An absolute nightmare of an experience

An absolute nightmare of an experience. I would never recommend such unprofessional service to anyone. I was constantly chasing them for updates, as they showed no initiative or effort throughout the process. They confirmed in writing via email that my bid had been accepted and sent instructions for the next steps.

I proceeded with AML checks, which I paid for, spoke to a solicitor, took a day off work, and arranged a meeting with a mortgage advisor—only to be told later that someone else had made a higher offer. Of course, a higher bid means a higher commission for them, so they handed it over to the other buyer without hesitation.

Even after this, I received no communication from the Crewe agency. I sent several follow-up emails, all of which were ignored. In hindsight, I should have paid attention to their one-star Trustpilot reviews before dealing with them. Please, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Shambles whitegates

Whitegates estate agents Walton Vale unprofessional! I enquired a property to rent ( WALTON VALE LIVERPOOL ) via rightmove approx 2 weeks ago, phoned them up last week in which they took my details and said there should be viewings next week.

Double checked Rightmove today and the property has been taken off! What a waste of space, the staff lack communication and customer skills, how they keep in business.

If I failed my customer twice my line manager will be asking questions! Over looking a customer once is bad enough, but, a second time after a complaint has been there’s something wrong and must be sorted before a third complaint goes in

Ridiculously High Rents

Sorry but where do you get some of the prices of some of your rents from? Looking at images of some of your properties available for rent and I’m shocked. £700pcm for a 2 bed terraced house with a room with no flooring, exposed pipes and decor that looks outdated even by 90s standards? We’re not talking in a city centre here either we’re talking a small town in West Yorkshire. £650pcm for a 1 bed house which again, has a room with no floors, white goods that are incredibly stained with tobacco, no wonder young people and families can’t afford to move!

Whitegates Walton Vale

I contacted Whitegates, Walton Vale several weeks ago regarding a property to let. Initially, the call was dropped. I called back as I was keen to view. I managed to get hold of the agent and requested to view. Her tone/attitude was dismissive at best. She placed me on hold without confirmation that this was okay. Very poor practice. She came back to me and advised that there was an open house and asked was I was free to attend. I explained that the date didn’t work for me and how keen I was to secure a letting as soon as possible (I very likely would have signed a tenancy without need for the open house to proceed) she advised me that this wasn’t possible and to call back after the open house. I duly called back a few days later. After speaking with the agent again, I was advised that the letting was available. I was placed on hold and told “actually, it may not be” and to call back on Monday. Again, I called back on Monday and requested a viewing. I was informed that a further open house would be taking place. I confirmed a viewing and this went ahead. After consideration, I decided to go for the letting. I called the office (no answer) voicemail was left. I emailed and requested a call back. No response. Upon reflection, I’m so glad that I don’t have to work with this sorry excuse of a “business” if I was the landlord, I’d be thoroughly disappointed and looking for a better agency to work with. The letting is still listed.

Modern Method of Auction

Modern Method of Auction. As far as I can see any agent supporting this is supporting a scam. For the property in question I must pay £300 to see the buyers pack which gives me the right to bid- lets assume 20 people wish to bid so that’s £6,000 in someone pocket for starters, then if my bid wins the agent or whoever gets another 4.5% (another 6k), then the winner (using the word loosely as we all know who the winner is with this) has to complete within 56 days- lets hope the other sides solicitor is quick in answering queries otherwise your money is forfeited. If it looks like a scam and smells like a scam it probably is

I had a terrible moving out experience with Georgia and Herdip from Whitegates Wolverhampton

I had a terrible living experience with the property , in case of any repairs that we reported, they were never available to respond on calls or emails. For very serious issues as well they were unresponsive. But the worst part was when we decided to move out of the property and they wrongfully claimed that we damaged the curtains etc for which we first complained that they were not in good condition when we moved in.
They are fradulent and want to make money out of tenant by wrongfully claiming damage costs which we haven’t done in the first place.
They claimed the coffee table or carpets were stained but they were in full working conditions. We were schocked to see them making such claims while they never paid heed to our issues reported during our tenancy.
Never ever use these letting agents for property- one they will never be available for solving the issues you face and second they will put false claims finding small spots or damages you haven’t done to withold the security deposit.

It’s the people who work there that enable the company to do well

Sold my house with Whitegates and finally moved December 2024. The first person I met was Danni Dickinson who did the initial valuation and it was thanks to her that I got a really good price. Later my sale was dealt with by Lisa Cordery who was a very professional young woman, but also very approachable, helpful and very good at giving me feedback after viewings – most of which she carried out herself. Everyone I dealt with at Whitegates either on the phone or in person were always very efficient – calls were answered quickly and messages always passed on but the one person who stood out to me throughout the sale process was Lisa and I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for everything and wish her all the best for the future.

wrong advertising

I went for 2 viewings and both had incorrect/old pictures posted online. In real, the properties were in terrible condition. Complete waste of my time. Also I strongly believe the prices they advertise For Sale are over inflated by 15%-20%. So if you see a property For Sale by Whitegates, always offer a price which is 25% less than the offer price.

Whitegates Beeston Branch…

Once again the team at Whitegates in Beeston have pulled out all the stops to solve a problem that turned out to be my human error! Two days of no boiler which baffled the repair team until it all made sense with the flick of a switch that I knocked – nothing but speedy input and onsite support – bearing in mind I’m in Lichfield and not Beeston I just can’t fault the people, the attitude and the genuine will to make problems go away quickly. Thank you team Whitegates Beeston branch – once again I’m left with nothing other to say than thank you for your super efficient service, Tracy, Marie and Sonya!

Very poor service

Very poor service, why would anyone use Whitegates in Bradford to sell or buy houses. Sent them a email to view a propery a week back but no reply yet (10 days). Telephoned them today and was told they will call back in 5 minutes due to problem in their phone system but it’s been 5 hours. I suppose it’s best to get poor service before you have entered an agreement with them. I hope this review helps others. Thank you

Our assessment after analyzing reviews

Below are the analyze and conclusion of us about above reviews

Review 1 (George Pitcher): This review is overwhelmingly positive, citing “fantastic service” and going “above and beyond.” The inclusion of specific names (Stefan, Evon, Emily) adds a layer of authenticity. The smiley face emoticon also makes the review seem genuine. The review speaks to a repeated positive experience (“second time ive used them”), suggesting a long-term relationship. However, extreme positivity without specific details can sometimes be a red flag, though in this context, it seems plausible.

Review 2 (sandra McCarthy): This review highlights a positive viewing experience, mentioning a specific location (Huyton, Liverpool) and employee (Tracy). The reviewer praises Tracy’s helpfulness and welcoming demeanor. Specific details like these add credibility to the review. The language is simple and direct, characteristic of a genuine customer experience.

Review 3 (megaera jacobs): This review is extremely negative, describing a “horrendous” experience with “rude and hostile” staff. The mention of “ablist” behavior is a serious accusation. While negative reviews can be genuine, the lack of specific details regarding the application or the house makes it slightly less credible. The strong emotional language (“rude,” “hostile”) could be indicative of a real, albeit unpleasant, experience.

Review 4 (Natasha cazan): This review is sharply critical, alleging “rude disrespectful” behavior and accusing the company of holding rent money for five days. The specific claim about rent money handling is a serious accusation that could be easily verified or refuted. The blunt language adds to the impression of a genuine complaint.

Review 5 (Hashim Ijaz): This is a detailed and highly critical review, describing an “absolute nightmare” experience. The reviewer provides a timeline of events, including a confirmed bid, AML checks, solicitor consultation, and a day off work, all rendered pointless by a higher offer. The mention of ignored follow-up emails and the specific Crewe agency adds credibility. The reference to Trustpilot reviews suggests prior research and reinforces the negative sentiment. This review is substantial and believable due to the specific details provided.

Review 6 (Phillip): This review details a frustrating experience involving a property to rent in Walton Vale, Liverpool. The reviewer describes a lack of communication and the property being removed from Rightmove. The reviewer expresses disbelief at how the business stays afloat. The tone is frustrated but coherent, typical of a dissatisfied customer.

Review 7 (Alan T): This review focuses on overpriced rental properties in West Yorkshire, questioning the value for money given the condition of the properties. The inclusion of specific price points (£700pcm, £650pcm) and descriptions of the properties’ condition (“no flooring, exposed pipes, outdated decor”) lends credibility to the review. The reviewer’s concern for young people and families struggling to afford housing adds a social commentary element.

Review 8 (STEPHEN BALL): This review recounts a series of frustrating interactions with Whitegates Walton Vale, including dropped calls, dismissive attitudes, conflicting information, and unanswered communications. The detailed account of the open house and subsequent attempts to secure a viewing adds credibility. The reviewer’s frustration is palpable, and the conclusion that the business is a “sorry excuse” reflects a deeply negative experience.

Review 9 (Duncan): This review strongly criticizes the “Modern Method of Auction” process, labeling it a “scam.” The reviewer highlights the £300 fee to see the buyer’s pack, the 4.5% commission, and the short completion timeframe as potential pitfalls. The calculations and clear description of the process make the argument convincing.

Review 10 (Ashley): This review outlines a “terrible living experience” characterized by unresponsive repairs and false claims of damage upon moving out. The reviewer accuses Whitegates Wolverhampton of being “fradulent” and wanting to “make money out of tenant by wrongfully claiming damage costs.” The specificity of the issues (curtains, coffee table, carpets) and the claim of previously reported problems add weight to the accusation.

Review 11 (Christine): This review is overwhelmingly positive, praising Danni Dickinson for the initial valuation and Lisa Cordery for her professionalism, helpfulness, and feedback. The review highlights the efficient handling of calls and messages. The detailed appreciation for Lisa Cordery suggests a genuine positive experience.

Review 12 (Paul Brooke): This review expresses long-term satisfaction with Whitegates Dronfield, citing helpful and responsive staff. The 100% recommendation reinforces the positive sentiment. The simplicity and directness of the review suggest a genuine positive experience.

Review 13 (england11): This review is critical, stating that two viewings had incorrect/old pictures and that the properties were in terrible condition. It also alleges that the prices advertised “For Sale are over inflated by 15%-20%.” This is a detailed criticism that suggests the reviewer’s experience is real.

Review 14 (Jane): This review describes a struggle to get the deposit back, claiming that Whitegates wrongly attributed general wear and tear as damage. The reviewer states that it caused her husband stress. The mention of the “tennant deposit scheme” adds some credibility

Review 15 (Maria Charalambous): This review highlights the positive experience they had with Adam Clarke for years. Praising their efficiency and high standards. The simplicity and directness of the review suggest a genuine positive experience.

Review 16 (Man Wai Lee): This review is a short one about a positive experience viewing a flat with Lewis. The review praises his professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness. The simplicity and directness of the review suggest a genuine positive experience.

Review 17 (Fkay): This review talks about their “Excellent service from ALL at Whitegates.” They specifically highlight Karen and James (and Josh!), noting that “Karen particularly has gone above and beyond to support what has been an extremely emotional and stressful experience.” This level of detail adds to the credibility.

Review 18 (Peter Mawson): This review is very positive highlighting the team at Whitegates in Beeston. The problem was a human error issue and it was resolved fast. It thanks the team.

Review 19 (Mohammod): This review is about a negative experience involving a delayed reply to an email requesting a property viewing. It also mentions a promise of a call back that never happened.
